In Stockbridge
|
Enjoy a challenging round of golf at one of New England’s finest and most
historic private courses. This course has
small greens and
tight, tree-lined
fairways. The historic Housatonic River
flows throughout the course and comes
into play on thirteen holes. This club
has been listed by the USGA as one of
the first 100 clubs established in the
U.S. Walter Nettleton and Joseph
Franz each remodeled the course.
Originally a nine-hole layout when it
opened in 1895, another nine holes were
added in 1900, making Stockbridge, for
many years, Massachusetts' only 18-hole
course west of Springfield. Now
measuring 6,567 yards from the back
tees, the course has hosted several
Massachusetts Golf Association events.
We have a fun-filled day in store for you, including complimentary gifts, awards,
raffle prizes, auction items and
entertaining golf programs to test your swing. Prizes will be awarded for various contests such as: closest to the
pin, longest drive, team scores and much
more.
There
will be a barbecue dinner
served after the tournament.
Best
of all your participation will help
to support a growing program that
benefits the many scouting youth
right here in our local
communities! You can help by being
a tournament player or sponsor or
by doing both. We greatly
appreciate your help and
participation either way.
Treat yourself to a great day of golf
at one
Golf Digest Course of the
Day courses and show your support for local Boy Scouting programs.

Scouting In Berkshire County
Scouting stretches the
length and breadth of Berkshire County!
There are over 60 locations from Ashley
Falls to Hancock - Williamston to
Sandisfield
and virtually every community in
between, serving the young people of
Berkshire County. Not only are they in
the Scouting program - they are giving
back to their communities making them a
better place to live. They collect
canned goods, keep the highways clean,
scrub, paint, help the elderly and much,
much more! You can feel a sense of
pride that you support goes a long way
in the
Western Massachusetts Council helping
serve our youth.
The
Western Massachusetts Council is the
local not-for profit organization
chartered to the Boy Scouts of America
to build and support the programs of
Scouting in our area. The Council
covers Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and
Hampshire counties. The Appalachian
Trail District is the portion of the
Western Massachusetts Council that serves
Berkshire County.
Our annual Scouting for Food drive
collects and distributes to local food
programs over 20,000 items. Each year
about 3% of our scouts earn the Eagle award
the highest award in scouting.
