Course
Design
Welcome
to The Ranch Golf Club! You are in
for one of the best golf experiences you
can find anywhere. This golf course was
created on a wonderful historic piece of
land. It's a mixture of open meadows and
woodland, interspersed with beautiful
creeks, and a dash of wetlands tossed in
to make each hole exciting and
memorable.
To
successfully negotiate your way around
The Ranch Golf Club you'll have to
analyze each shot and carefully consider
your options. There are many
opportunities to take risks that will be
richly rewarded if properly executed.
Even so, we think we have placed enough
mystery and intrigue into the course to
entice you to come back and take on the
challenge again.
I hope
you enjoy playing The Ranch and
experience the true spirit of the
greatest game ever conceived.
About
the Architect
Damian
Pascuzzo began his career working with
famed designer Robert Muir Graves. In
1991, he became the principal designer
and partnered with Graves to form Graves
& Pascuzzo based in El Dorado Hills,
California. Pascuzzo has worked on a
broad range of projects from residential
and resort developments, to master
planning and remodeling existing
courses, throughout North America and
Asia. In 2001 he was elected President
of the American Society of Golf Course
Architects. Pascuzzo continues to play
an active role in the leadership of that
organization.
In 2006,
longtime veteran of the PGA Tour, Steve
Pate joined with Damian Pascuzzo to form
Pascuzzo & Pate Golf Course Design.
Steve brings his vast knowledge of golf
and playing strategy gained from
competing on the great courses of the
world for over 30 years. Pate's
professional career includes six PGA
Tour wins, and membership on two Ryder
Cup teams.
Their
portfolio encompasses the total spectrum
of site characteristics and
environmental challenges including,
Tropical Jungles, Mountain Forests,
Seashores, Deserts and Land Reclamation.
In the end, it is the firm's goal on
every project to design a golf course
that complements rather than competes
with the surrounding environment, thus
providing a truly enjoyable golfing
experience.
At The
Ranch Golf Club, Damian had a wonderful
piece of historic land to work with. He
had a mixture of meadows and woodland
interspersed with beautiful creeks and a
dash of wetlands, which makes each hole
a challenging and memorable experience.
